Happy Holidays everyone. I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving and Christmas with friends and family and that you are ready for the New Year.
It was exciting to see our businesses, industry, and the Carolinas Chapter of ICRI return to something more closely resembling pre-COVID times in 2021. Our Chapter was very active this year. We hosted two golf themed events – an outing at Top Golf in April, and a golf tournament at the Greensboro, NC Grandover Resort in June. In October we completed our largest Service Project in the Chapter’s history and in November we held a Mega Demo event in Raleigh.
Volunteers from 10 members companies showed up in force at the Charlotte Rescue Mission Service Project with over 20 people on the first day and 12 folks on the second day. Thank you to everyone that participated and a special thank you to the firms that contributed materials and to John Lambert for leading the charge.
Our Mega Demo event was held on November 3rd and 4th in Raleigh, NC. We had a great turnout and the participants enjoyed 4 excellent technical presentations and 9 product demonstrations as well as some long overdue social interaction. Hayes Thompson led the charge and we are once again thankful for his continued leadership and hard work.
More details on the Service Project and the Mega Demo event are included in this newsletter and John prepared a nice Service Project video that is available on the ICRI Carolinas website by following the Mega Demo link.
The Chapter Board is currently working on plans for 2022 and it is looking like another active year for the Carolinas Chapter with opportunities for you to connect and learn from the experiences of your fellow members. Details on our Spring conference in Charleston, SC can be found in this newsletter.
Please join me in recognizing and thanking our outgoing Board Members Steve Moore and Daron Hester. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to our new Board Members, Sarah Thaxton and David Tepke. Finally, I would like to thank all of our sponsors and members for their ongoing support of this great organization.
Finally, I would like to issue a couple of challenges to the membership. First, invite someone to join ICRI or to attend one of our events in 2022. Secondly, think about a project that your firm is working on that you could nominate for Project of the Year.
I look forward to seeing everyone at an ICRI Carolinas Chapter event in 2022.
