Mike Jarman
Chapter President
Coastal Construction Products
As we reflect on 2023, I want to take a moment to thank our Past President, John Ammons, our Executive Director, Brad Aderhold, and the Board of Directors and the Membership for another amazing year. Our spring conference was held in one of my favorite cities, Charleston, SC. The Board of Directors did an incredible job bringing in some of the top individuals in our industry who shared their knowledge and expertise with us. Our fall event took place in Charlotte, NC with another round of talented speakers and our first ever scavenger hunt throughout the city. To round out 2023, we traveled to Pinehurst, NC for our joint golf outing tournament with The Waterproofing Contractors Association which had a record-breaking turnout. At this event, we were able to raise money to support our scholarship program and network with other industry experts. Lastly, congratulations to our 2023 Project of the Year Winner, High Rock Waterproofing, for their work on the Atrium Health Baptist Cooling Tower project.
As we kickoff 2024, I would like to welcome Greg Brown and Al Schweickhardt to the Board of Directors. Our goal for 2024 is to continue the ICRI Carolinas Chapter legacy and form partnerships with other non-profit organizations to better serve the communities around us. In addition to our regularly scheduled events, we will incorporate two service projects focused on using our resources to improve our community. We are also excited to welcome ICRI National’s “Basics of Concrete Repair” pilot program to Raleigh, NC. This event will be held in February and will feature leaders from around the country.
As some of you may know, the ICRI Carolinas Chapter celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. This is an incredible milestone and one that is only made possible through the dedication and efforts of our members. I want to challenge each of you to continue to invest in this fantastic chapter. We truly have a great opportunity to make a positive impact on our industry and within our communities. I look forward to being your 2024 President.
