The ICRI Carolinas Chapter enjoyed a wonderful 2022 that included spring and fall conferences in Charleston, SC and Greenville, SC respectively. The conferences provided high quality educational programs, opportunities to become better acquainted with exhibitors’ technical information, and the chance to establish and expand relationships between suppliers, engineers, and contractors. Sandwiched between the two conferences was a golf scramble in the “Cradle of American Golf,” Pinehurst, NC. As a result of these successful events and our generous sponsors, the chapter saw its finances recover from challenges stemming from the pandemic in the previous two years. I want to thank all of the membership, the board, our past president, Bill Brickey, and executive director Brad Aderhold for a fantastic 2022.

While 2022 was a great year, the year ahead will be a very special one – the Carolina Chapter’s 30th. The board welcomes back Ben Pisello for his second term and Stewart Swing for his first. I am confident that, along with the rest of the board, they will provide great energy and ideas to carry on the three-decade legacy of excellence from the ICRI Carolinas Chapter.

The board met in December to map out the year to allow you to mark your calendars now for some great opportunities to be a part of in 2023. We are working in cooperation with ACI to promote a seminar focused on integrating ACI 562 Code for Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures. We’ll return to the always popular Charleston in the spring and head to Charlotte in the fall. A summer golf outing is in the works, so stay tuned for details as they develop.

Finally, I want to thank you all for your support of the ICRI Carolinas Chapter and wish you all a healthy and successful 2023!
